एहि बिधि दुखित प्रजेसकुमारी। अकथनीय दारुन दुखु भारी।।
बीतें संबत सहस सतासी। तजी समाधि संभु अबिनासी।।
राम नाम सिव सुमिरन लागे। जानेउ सतीं जगतपति जागे।।
जाइ संभु पद बंदनु कीन्ही। सनमुख संकर आसनु दीन्हा।।
लगे कहन हरिकथा रसाला। दच्छ प्रजेस भए तेहि काला।।
देखा बिधि बिचारि सब लायक। दच्छहि कीन्ह प्रजापति नायक।।
बड़ अधिकार दच्छ जब पावा। अति अभिमानु हृदयँ तब आवा।।
नहिं कोउ अस जनमा जग माहीं। प्रभुता पाइ जाहि मद नाहीं।।
दो0- दच्छ लिए मुनि बोलि सब करन लगे बड़ जाग।
नेवते सादर सकल सुर जे पावत मख भाग।।60।।

We have been enriching ourselves by discussing what Goswami Tulsidas gave us in form of Ramcharit Manas and we discussed up to the Doha 60 (given above) in the last post. Maa Sati is now sitting near Shiv who came out of his deep meditating state and is conversing with Shiv and right then event of Yagna at Sati’s father’s place is going to happen.

Devtas(those who were invited/invoked)accompanied by Kinners (the dancers), Nagas (a tribe called by that name which means serpents also), Siddhas ( the accomplished people in their respective fields) and Gandhrvas ( the expert singers) as also their consorts started moving towards the house of Daksha. This contingent of Devtas did not include Vishnu (the sustainer),Brahma (the creator) and Shiv (the destroyer)as these were not invited by Daksha as he considered them not very responsible for his present high status (the narrow visioned so called wise of the worldly people see only that is apparent i e only such lords (Gods)who have seeming presence in the world in shape of gross things like water,air etc. were given importance). All the Gods and their people traveled to the spot fixed by Daksha in various crafts of their own which were duly decorated and loud celebrations were heard all over which could have made even serious Munis lose their concentration.

Sati took note of these passing crafts in the sky and therefore asked Shiv what was it all about and Shiv told her that a big Yagya was going to be taking place at Sati’s father’s house. This information made Sati a little relieved, she thought this occasion could well be an opportunity for her to go and live with parents at their place.She wanted to forget for a while the great distress that she was undergoing due to Shiv’s almost stopping to consider her as his partner in life. Sati thought that it was possible only in the event of Shiv giving his consent for this but she could not mug up courage to ask for any relief as the fault was her own.

Overcoming her weakness, Sati spoke with a voice full of affection yet with slight fear and reluctance to Shiv asking for his permission to let her attend the grand function taking place her father’s place adding that only if the Kripayatan (abode of grace) Shiv would be pleased as she has high regard for what he says or thinks.

(We can see here that Sati is quiet an expert in her approach of asking for what she wants, she displays all that is commonly practiced by the high born ladies even in today’s society.)

किंनर नाग सिद्ध गंधर्बा। बधुन्ह समेत चले सुर सर्बा।।
बिष्नु बिरंचि महेसु बिहाई। चले सकल सुर जान बनाई।।
सतीं बिलोके ब्योम बिमाना। जात चले सुंदर बिधि नाना।।
सुर सुंदरी करहिं कल गाना। सुनत श्रवन छूटहिं मुनि ध्याना।।
पूछेउ तब सिवँ कहेउ बखानी। पिता जग्य सुनि कछु हरषानी।।
जौं महेसु मोहि आयसु देहीं। कुछ दिन जाइ रहौं मिस एहीं।।
पति परित्याग हृदय दुखु भारी। कहइ न निज अपराध बिचारी।।
बोली सती मनोहर बानी। भय संकोच प्रेम रस सानी।।
दो0-पिता भवन उत्सव परम जौं प्रभु आयसु होइ।
तौ मै जाउँ कृपायतन सादर देखन सोइ।।61।।
