Ramcharit Charcha LXXXIX

II Shree Guruvey Namah II

Jai Shri Ram,

II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II
II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II
II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II

In the last post we covered up to Doha 85 of Balkand in Ramcharit Manas of Goswami Tulsidas learning about all round vice like grip on senses of all creatures in the creation of Brahma, brought about the army of Kaamdev but without effect on those who were saved by Ram.

This all happened in a matter of hours during the time when Kaamdev reached near Shiv Shambhu. As soon as Kaamdev set sight on Shiv, he became unsure and fearful. At the same very moment all afflicted became normal again like when a drunken people become normal after the effect of intoxicating brew wears off. Looking at Rudra (a name of Shiv, meaning one who is angry), Madan (another name of Kaamdev) became nervous as Bhagwaan Shiv seemed to him as unaaproachable and unconquerable. He was reluctant to go back without doing any thing to accomplish his mission hence deciding on a plan which put his own life in danger Kaamdev menifested the loveable spring season which is called king of all seson due to its charm; this made rows of fresh looking trees laden with flowers and the whole region around that place consisting of woods, gardens, ponds and springs of water became immensely beautiful/pleasure giving. Such supercharged atmosphere overflowed with instinct of love and passion which made the hearts of even the dead filled with desires and become lustful.

Cool and fragrent breez fired up the emotions (as if all gods i e wind-god and fire-god teamed up with god of love). Rows of lotus of various kinds spung up in pools which were swarmed by humming bees. Swans, cuckoos and parrots made pleasent noises, the celestial dancing troops performed artfully singing and dancing.

Kaamdev applied all the possible tactics in his and his amry’s power to make an impact of Shiv who remained firmly seated there and in state of Samadhi.Defeated and tired, Kaamdev became angry (a weak person usually gets angry in face of defeat and when he has to surrender. An angry person loses wit and gets into deeper trouble. Kaamdev has reached this point and would exceed his limits inviting his own destruction).

We have covered upto Doha 86 today.
