The last post which covered up to Doha 106 of Blakand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas, gave us the glimpses of Kialas where Lord Shiv is peacefully seated under beautiful banyan tree in His usual state of composure enjoying the pristine cool surroundings.

Lord Shiv, the one who had once angrily looked at Kaamdev who got burned under His gaze, was seated as if embodied quietude or the serenity itself taking a form was present there (Shiv remains absolutely calm because the desires never get born in His heart and hence there is never any agitation in His mind on account that).

Parvati thought it was a good occasion to be with Shiv and went near Him. Shiv welcomed Her with due attention and honor considering her to be none other than His beloved and offered her a seat on His left side (in Indian tradition wives are made to sit on the left side of their husbands and only when the husbands partake in a religious ritual they sit on the right side of husband, may be on the side of heart when normally with them and as helpers like right hand in religious activities).

Maa Parvati happily took her place by the side of Shiv and the moment of nearness with Shiv reminded her of the earlier life when she had unfortunately lost this privilege. In this life having regained Shiv’s love which was now much more than it had been in the earlier life ever (because she had done penance and had observed austerities for long period and washed away all impurities from her heart which had been there in the form of having an ego for being daughter of a respectable family).

Smilingly Uma spoke in endearing tone; she wanted to ask Shiv to give to her the very same Katha which serves the cause of well being of the entire world (and which she had occasion to learn in her earlier birth when Shiv had taken her to ashram of Muni Agastya but had not paid heed leaving her full of doubts and suffer for it eventually),” O’ Vishwanath (the lord of the world), O’ my master, your glory is known to the all three worlds (Bhu,Bhuvah and Swah). You are served by animate and inanimate, by Nagas, the humans and the gods too, all of whom pay homage to Your lotus-feet.”

Uma continues by saying, “My lord, you are capable, all-knowledgeable, and Shiv (meaning benefactor), you are repository of all kinds of arts and all types of virtues, You have immense knowledge about Yoga (the art of uniting with the absolute) and have absolute dispassion about worldly objects. Your name itself is rewarding and provider of desired objects like Kalpvruksh (divine tree) to the suppliant.”

(Uma has spoken in rightest possible manner as should one, requiring his/her noble demand be met, address His superior. When a Guru is approached for some spiritual guidance, he should be pleased with humility and then only his heart and mind pour down the knowledge with love and concern. When a question is asked in an ordinary manner, the answer is usually just a formality and it is not given taking in to account the status, capacity, objective and purpose of the questioner. When asked with humility the Guru goes at length to see that whole knowledge about the subject is passed on so at to remove all doubt and make the knowledge part of the disciple as much it is of the master.)

We have now covered up to Doha 107 of Balkand.
