जौं अनीह ब्यापक बिभु कोऊ। कबहु बुझाइ नाथ मोहि सोऊ।।
अग्य जानि रिस उर जनि धरहू। जेहि बिधि मोह मिटै सोइ करहू।।
मै बन दीखि राम प्रभुताई। अति भय बिकल न तुम्हहि सुनाई।।
तदपि मलिन मन बोधु न आवा। सो फलु भली भाँति हम पावा।।
अजहूँ कछु संसउ मन मोरे। करहु कृपा बिनवउँ कर जोरें।।
प्रभु तब मोहि बहु भाँति प्रबोधा। नाथ सो समुझि करहु जनि क्रोधा।।
तब कर अस बिमोह अब नाहीं। रामकथा पर रुचि मन माहीं।।
कहहु पुनीत राम गुन गाथा। भुजगराज भूषन सुरनाथा।।
दो0-बंदउ पद धरि धरनि सिरु बिनय करउँ कर जोरि।
बरनहु रघुबर बिसद जसु श्रुति सिद्धांत निचोरि।।109।।

Parvati explained in detail about the doubt and confusions that had been plaguing her since last birth but with a difference that she was now ready to absorb what was going to come from Shiv unlike in her last birth, this we learned in the last post which covered up to Doha 109 of Balkand in Ramcharit Manas of Tuslidas.

Parvati now further extends the scope of her inquiry from Shiv saying, “I am just a woman and hence not very qualified to learn it all (in earlier times knowing that the ladies are usually not very much free from chores of household and not very competent to travel far and wide in search of knowledge from grand masters in the spiritual field were required to not be overly trying for the knowledge and wander but opportunity to acquire this ultimate knowledge wasn’t to be bypassed if the source of knowledge was right there in the home or at a time when they were free from domestic responsibility and were in right company inside or outside the home).

“I am yet your servant in thought, deed and word. The Sadhus (saints, the ones who do Sadhana and have easy temperament) do not conceal the intricate knowledge or esoteric truth whenever they come across a badly afflicted person (by wrongful ways in life) or is qualified to receive it. I am such a one who is in agony (very much so when her previous life is seen, she is also now competent on account of having undergone the process of cleansing mind and heart of stubbornness and placing her full devotion at the feet of Shiv) hence I ask; please therefore tell the Kathas of lord of Raghus Shri Ram.

“First of all please tell the basic point i e the reason behind Brahman who is beyond qualification and description and is formless, assuming a body and a form which is very much describable and connectible. Then O’ lord, tell why He took avatar as Ram (among so many other avatars from time to time).

“Then O Udara (the liberal and soft hearted), tell also the interesting childhood related stories (Balcharit) of Ram. Sequentially then tell how Ram met and wed Janki (daughter of Janak, Sita) and what wrong did He do that He had to relinquish the throne of Ayodhya (even though He was eldest son of Dashrath, the king of Ayodhya). Ram lived in forests and did many acts and deeds (like killing Rakshasas and pleasing Munis and Bhaktas) which are many (with wide significance).

“In the end please the manner in which he annihilated Ravan (it is important in her thought as Ravan is false ego and is also a usurper of means and a consumer with insatiable large appetite, which are tendencies which are difficult to get done with). How Ram then post coronation, sitting on the throne (i e sitting prettily as wrong tendencies have been removed from the world) did many other Leelas. O Shakar, you are giver of blissfulness and comforts of mind and for body to me, please relate all the events He participated in (keeping the Dharma on top).”

Parvati wants also to know and asks, ” In the end O Shiv, you are so full of grace and love, please tell the miracles wrought by Ram (as Maryada avatar Ram had not done very many miracles which may seem to be non-doable by an ordinary human being yet some of the Leelas though simply acted but acted up on the direction of His own Gurus resulted in miraculous effect like in case of Ahalya which will learn later about) and lastly, it is said Ram, the jewel in Raghu’s line, had left this earth for His own abode along with his subjects (it means that those who have had occasion to live with Him, see His Leelas first hand and who have been guided by Him are not left with any unfinished business on earth and do find a resting place with Him in His own abode for blissful existence without a need to come back in the world again bound by Karmas).

We have now covered up to Doha 110 of Balkand.

जदपि जोषिता नहिं अधिकारी। दासी मन क्रम बचन तुम्हारी।।
गूढ़उ तत्व न साधु दुरावहिं। आरत अधिकारी जहँ पावहिं।।
अति आरति पूछउँ सुरराया। रघुपति कथा कहहु करि दाया।।
प्रथम सो कारन कहहु बिचारी। निर्गुन ब्रह्म सगुन बपु धारी।।
पुनि प्रभु कहहु राम अवतारा। बालचरित पुनि कहहु उदारा।।
कहहु जथा जानकी बिबाहीं। राज तजा सो दूषन काहीं।।
बन बसि कीन्हे चरित अपारा। कहहु नाथ जिमि रावन मारा।।
राज बैठि कीन्हीं बहु लीला। सकल कहहु संकर सुखलीला।।
दो0-बहुरि कहहु करुनायतन कीन्ह जो अचरज राम।
प्रजा सहित रघुबंसमनि किमि गवने निज धाम।।110।।
