बरष सहस दस त्यागेउ सोऊ। ठाढ़े रहे एक पद दोऊ।।
बिधि हरि तप देखि अपारा। मनु समीप आए बहु बारा।।
मागहु बर बहु भाँति लोभाए। परम धीर नहिं चलहिं चलाए।।
अस्थिमात्र होइ रहे सरीरा। तदपि मनाग मनहिं नहिं पीरा।।
प्रभु सर्बग्य दास निज जानी। गति अनन्य तापस नृप रानी।।
मागु मागु बरु भै नभ बानी। परम गभीर कृपामृत सानी।।
मृतक जिआवनि गिरा सुहाई। श्रबन रंध्र होइ उर जब आई।।
ह्रष्टपुष्ट तन भए सुहाए। मानहुँ अबहिं भवन ते आए।।
दो0-श्रवन सुधा सम बचन सुनि पुलक प्रफुल्लित गात।
बोले मनु करि दंडवत प्रेम न हृदयँ समात।।145।।

We covered up to Doha 145 of Balkand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas in the last post and learned that the Supreme God has answered the call of Manu after Manu stayed firm in his Tapa and rejected the temptations offered by Brahmaji (the creator). Manu then started speaking with love filled heart.

Manu said, “O Lord, you are like Surtaru (Kalpavruksh, the wish-yielding tree) and Surdhenu (cow which rewards with her milk (thing needed) whenever asked) to Your own servants, the dust of Your feet is revered by Brahma,Vishnu and Mahesh, the trinity of Gods. Your Bhaktas easily find you by serving/remembering You and You too grant them all pleasures, You protect those who seek your shelter and You only are the guiding (life) force of the living beings of both, plant and animal origin.

“If You, the caretaker of the helpless people, if You love we two also, then please grant us the boon of our being able to see, till we get satisfied, that form of Yours which is the same beautiful form that ever dwells in heart of Shiv, for which the Munis put in extra-ordinary effort in their Bhakti and Tapa, which form sports in mind of Bhushundi (a sage who became a crow but retained knowledge,this story will come later) like a swan (which floats effortlessly and in the same way the form of God remains present in Bhushundi’s heart filled with water of Bhakti) and which is the form of the same God who has been praised and glorified by the Vedas as both, with and without attributes.”

Manu and Shatrupa exclaimed, “O the Gracious One who relieves the distress of the suppliant, we wish to be feasting on that form of Yours with our eyes.”

The Lord (Hari) very much liked and valued the soft, humble and love-drenched words of the couple and then the Graceful Lord, who is always affectionate towards the Bhaktas and who pervades the whole universe, manifested before the royal couple.

The form of Lord looked having a blue tinge like that of a blue lotus, a sapphire and the water-filled clouds. The elegance of His soft, shining and fresh body could have paled the combined elegance of billions of Kaamdevs (the God of Love).

(Those who have become as pure of heart as the couple had become, do see the form of Lord in its pristine beauty and grace. What they see surpasses any kind of beauty that they may have seen in their life-time on earth. This difference is what separates the God-visualization from hallucination etc. The blue color denotes the infinite nature of God.)

सुनु सेवक सुरतरु सुरधेनु। बिधि हरि हर बंदित पद रेनू।।
सेवत सुलभ सकल सुख दायक। प्रनतपाल सचराचर नायक।।
जौं अनाथ हित हम पर नेहू। तौ प्रसन्न होइ यह बर देहू।।
जो सरूप बस सिव मन माहीं। जेहि कारन मुनि जतन कराहीं।।
जो भुसुंडि मन मानस हंसा। सगुन अगुन जेहि निगम प्रसंसा।।
देखहिं हम सो रूप भरि लोचन। कृपा करहु प्रनतारति मोचन।।
दंपति बचन परम प्रिय लागे। मुदुल बिनीत प्रेम रस पागे।।
भगत बछल प्रभु कृपानिधाना। बिस्वबास प्रगटे भगवाना।।
दो0-नील सरोरुह नील मनि नील नीरधर स्याम।
लाजहिं तन सोभा निरखि कोटि कोटि सत काम।।146।।
