नौमी तिथि मधु मास पुनीता। सुकल पच्छ अभिजित हरिप्रीता।।
मध्यदिवस अति सीत न घामा। पावन काल लोक बिश्रामा।।
सीतल मंद सुरभि बह बाऊ। हरषित सुर संतन मन चाऊ।।
बन कुसुमित गिरिगन मनिआरा। स्त्रवहिं सकल सरिताऽमृतधारा।।
सो अवसर बिरंचि जब जाना। चले सकल सुर साजि बिमाना।।
गगन बिमल सकुल सुर जूथा। गावहिं गुन गंधर्ब बरूथा।।
बरषहिं सुमन सुअंजलि साजी। गहगहि गगन दुंदुभी बाजी।।
अस्तुति करहिं नाग मुनि देवा। बहुबिधि लावहिं निज निज सेवा।।
दो0-सुर समूह बिनती करि पहुँचे निज निज धाम।
जगनिवास प्रभु प्रगटे अखिल लोक बिश्राम।।191।।

We covered up to Doha 191 of Balkand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas and learned that while all the creation became congenial and pleasurable and the Panchaang (the Yog (planetary position), Nakshtra/Lagna, Griha (planet), Waar (day) and Tithi (Date) together) was auspiciously aligned and when it was middle of day, neither too cool or too hot, the all-pervading Lord manifested, who is none other than one who Himself is resting abode for the whole world.

When merciful Lord, who is the care-taker of the deprived and help-less manifested for the benefit of Kaushlya, she became very thrilled as mother considering that it was the same form which attracts the Munis’ hearts and which is amazingly beautiful and special in every way. The form was such which was very pleasing to the eyes, which had bluish tinge like that of a cloud and held in its four arms four different emblems (a conch-shell, a discus, a mace and a lotus, these represent various functions of Lord Hari/Vishnu who is so viewed), it had a garland of flowers found in the forests, had wide eyes and was the ocean of beauty; He was none other than the one who can destroy the demon Khara (the word-meaning of it is evil-minded).

When the mother saw her son thus, she wondered how can she praise and pray before such a one and stood with hands folded before the beginning and endless Lord of universe. She said, “You are beyond Maya and beyond her binding force, the intellect can’t know you or measure you, the Vedas and Puranas so declare. You are ocean of mercy and also of pleasure, you have all the virtues stored in Your personality, the Saints and the Shrutis (Vedas) so keep singing. You only are that who endears the Bhaktas and have become manifested for my sake, O’ Lord of Laxmi.

“The whole lot of universes which have been brought in to existence by Maya are placed in pores of Your body only, this is the declaration of Vedas; the same one has been inside my womb is a laughable matter only, knowing this I have become of unstable mind and thinking.”

When Lord Hari saw this wisdom dawning on Mother Kaushalya, Lord Hari smiled, He wanted to enact in various ways and the knowledge of Kaushalya about the reality would have come in way hence Lord convinced her telling the stories (stories like when she had done Tapa to get Him as her son etc) that she has her heart filled with love of a son just born. Listening to this mother’s mood changed and she told Him to leave this form (which was like that of Lord Vishnu) and to begin behaving like a child which would be dear to her heart and would provide her joy of a kind which is unparalleled and is extreme (in a way the knowledge about the God Supreme is unparalleled and extreme, so in fact Kaushalya is not losing anything either way but here Lord has a purpose to accomplish).

Listening to the words of mother Kaushlya containing good sense and meaning, the Lord of gods decided to cry like a child and did cry Himself becoming a child. Tulsidas says whoever will sing this account of birth of Lord will attain the right to be near the God and will escape the chance of falling in the deep well of ignorance that is represented by this world.

The Lord accepted the human form in His avatar this time, all for the sake of Vipras, cows, gods and the saints, the form may have been that of a human but still it was a body assumed by Him by His own will not as an act of Maya and hence it was beyond the modes of nature (Trigunas i e Satva Rajas and Tamas) and without the need for having senses like humans (which govern the mind and intellect during the lifetime).

(The Vipras, cows, gods and the saints stay on earth not for themselves but to provide for others like Vipras spread knowledge without expectations, the cows remain useful in every way through out their lives and after, the gods also only give through their graces every thing under their command and the saints also expect nothing but enrich the society with spiritual messages. When they are under threat or trouble, the society degenerates, the God’s various avatars in human form happen to correct this imbalance but it would be wrong to say that they come under influence of Maya like ordinary human beings as they always remain Master of Maya even when in human form.)

We have now covered up to Doha 192 of Balkand.

सो मम हित लागी जन अनुरागी भयउ प्रगट श्रीकंता।।
ब्रह्मांड निकाया निर्मित माया रोम रोम प्रति बेद कहै।
मम उर सो बासी यह उपहासी सुनत धीर पति थिर न रहै।।
उपजा जब ग्याना प्रभु मुसकाना चरित बहुत बिधि कीन्ह चहै।
कहि कथा सुहाई मातु बुझाई जेहि प्रकार सुत प्रेम लहै।।
माता पुनि बोली सो मति डौली तजहु तात यह रूपा।
कीजै सिसुलीला अति प्रियसीला यह सुख परम अनूपा।।
सुनि बचन सुजाना रोदन ठाना होइ बालक सुरभूपा।
यह चरित जे गावहिं हरिपद पावहिं ते न परहिं भवकूपा।।
दो0-बिप्र धेनु सुर संत हित लीन्ह मनुज अवतार।
निज इच्छा निर्मित तनु माया गुन गो पार।।192।।
