We covered up to Doha 202 of Balkand of Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas and learned that Mother Kaushalya saw the real form of Lord and realized that there are many types of worlds that find place in the body of Lord which are different in characteristics and under spell of Maya but Lord is the same and his Bhaktas remain un-influenced by Maya. Then she wanted the Lord to come back in the form of child which form she had been familiar with.

Conceding the request of mother Lord Hari resumed His various activities as a child and gave unspeakable pleasure to His Bhaktas (including to the mother Kaushalya). The time went by and the four brothers became grown up young kids; the family members were pleased to see them around. At this stage Guru Vashishittha performed the Chudakaran ceremony (the shaving of head for removal of hair held since birth). On this auspicious occasion too the Vipras got Dakshina (given to Brahmins in recognition of their high status and selfless service).

The four brothers used to go about doing interesting activities that were liked by all. Just see that the one who is beyond comprehension by mind, can’t be described by speech and can not be known through actions, such a Lord played in the courtyard of Dashrath’s house (this itself looks strange but happened practically).

When the king used to have his food, Ram used to be called by him but Ram never wanted to leave the company of the fellow children with whom He was playing. When mother Kaushalya wanted to catch Him and bring back for feeding, Lord Ram used to walk away unsteadily. Just see that whose extent was not even known to Shiv and the Vedas (Vedas attempt to describe the God saying ‘not this’ ‘not that’ etc without being to exactly define the God), mother Kaushalya used to insist on catching Him (and succeed). When the Lord used to be brought eventually with body smeared with dust and mud, the king smilingly used to take Him in his lap (without minding that He is to be cleaned etc).

The restless Ram as child used to run away hither and thither finding an opportune moment making cheerful sounds with curd mixed rice sticking on lips and face even as He was taking His food.

(The world is a place where even God has to be getting unclean when playing, though only seemingly while we all get really muddied here in the world of want and vice, however, it is no reason to be too concerned if this impressions of our contact with the world do not go deep inside us. The father of us all does not mind taking us in His lap even when we become slightly unclean living in the world if we remain as innocent as a child and keep an eye on Lord Ram as Dashrath and Kaushalya used to do only showing interest in the Lord not having expectations from Him but just love Him for what He was without a trace of His supernatural powers showing.)

We have now covered up to Doha 203 of Balkand.
