II Sri ram jai Ram Jai jai Ram II

We covered up to Doha 233 of Balkand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas in the last post and learned that the two brothers now are in full view in the garden. Their beauty is unmatched even by combined beauty of the many gods of love. They have flowers and feathers of peacock adorning their heads, they have dark and fair complexion and look like beautiful blue and yellow colored lotuses, they have Tilak on their foreheads which also is dotted with shinning drops of perspiration. Their eyebrows are arched and ears are ornamented. They have curly locks and eyes are reddish, while they smile they steal hearts. With very attractive features and well shaped neck below which a string of Manis adorns the breast and they look as beautiful as can shame any other god; their beauty is beyond a poet’s capacity to describe. The one with dark complexion holds a cup of leaves in his left hand; his arms, strong and long, resemble the trunk of an elephant and he is more charming then the other. Comparing the waist of Shri Ram (the superior one among the scions of sun dynasty) with a lion’s, one of the frieds concluded that in yellow attire He looks very graceful and exudes pleasent aura; all of them lost their self-consciousness upon having a good look at Ram.

Collcting herself, one smater then rest of the friends addressed Sita after holding her hand, “you may concentrate on Gauri’s (Parvati’s) Dhyana later (confusing that Sita had closed her eyes for Dhyana of Gauri, or rather she was making an oblique remark for fun while knowing who had made Sita close her eyes), why not have an eyeful look at the young prince.”

Sita then reluctantly opened her eyes and did throw an observant glance in front towards the two lions amongs the Raghu’s clan. She looked at Ram from tip to toe and found Him very charming and beautiful but right then she remembered the vow of her father and became remorseful (she could not remain conscious of the fact that its only Ram who could break the bow of Shiv though she was aware that Ram only belongs to Her and that its only Leela that is going on).

The frinds also observed Sita becoming colorless considering that She was yet under guardianship of father, they wanted to defuse the situation and told Sita with a tinge of fear in tone that its late now. One of them then said, “we would be back around the this time tommorrow too”, saying thus she smiled within (she had said this teasingly to Sita knowing that Sita was too deeply interested in Ram as her long lost companion and master).

Sita listened to words of her friends which were impregnated with meaning and became slightly uneasy (at the prospect of next twenty four going without Ram in view) but she knew that its late already and mother would mind her not coming back in due time.

Patiently then she had an heartful look at Ram to bring his image in her heart and returned considering herself to be under protection and guidance of her faather (thus establishing that the young unmarried girls should always follow the discipline enforced by father and not get carried away).

While on her way back Sita kept looking back as if to only see the birds and fawna and trees but it was for time and agains having a glimse of Ram which only enhanced her love for Ram greatly (the psychology of Sita is that she has now become totally immersed in her love for Ram but is yet following the righteous path and not breaking barriers. This is good education for the young girls in similar situations. Aslo it will be seen that true love get rewarded).

We have now covered up to Doha 234 of balkand.
