Ramcharit Charcha CCXXXIII

II Shree Guruvey Namah II
Jai Shri Ram,

II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II
II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II
II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II

We covered up to Doha 241 of Balkand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas in the last post and learned that the two princes, Ram and Lakshman, both charming, strong and virtuous appeared on scene at the arena fixed for event. Ram was looked up on by the kings according to their own state of enligtenment and temperament as saviours/warriors, as threat and as death itself. The citizens however saw the two brothers as outstanding persons, pleasure giving to eyes while the ladies saw Shri Ram as the love incarnate and very very charming divine personality and according to their feelings (keeping in mind their relationship with Sita for whom Ram seemed to be best person to be married to).

There were many with deep understanding about God and such enlightened people saw Ram as none other than as the all-pervading God-Supreme and having the a cosmic form consisting of many faces, arms, feet, eyes and heads (this means that the functionality of universe, which has many ways of looking at things and doing things, is all that has God behind it and the menifestation of universe is by and of the God).

The Janak’s clan saw Ram as a dear relative of them (i e they had a pround wish that Sita should be married to Ram ever after they saw Ram irrespective of Janak’s vow) while Janak and his queen saw Ram as a young kid and their love for Him knew no bound.

The Yogis (seekers who have become one with God) considered Ram as the same Sat-Chit-Anand-Roop (the absolute truth, consciouness and total bliss in form)who is ever peaceful, pure in every way, equiposed and magnificiently brillient in a natural way (who is not illuminated from any outside source).

Those who were Bhaktas of Lord Hari (Vishnu) saw them as their own Isht-Dev (the beloved deity) who gives them all types of happiness and pleasure (whenever remembered and worshipped).

Of all those who were absorbed in seeing Ram, Sita looked at Him with a sentiment that none had and extent of her love for Lord and her joy at this moment was beyond words to describe. Even Sita had been only experiencing it and could not have expressed her feelings in words, how then a poet can cover it.

In the end, everyone saw the prince of Koshal (Avadh) in light of his own inner make up (it is our own mood and temperament that we see and even judge the Lord, we all are not able to remaining in same type of understanding about the Lord, in happier moments He is liked immensely and thanked, in moments of distress we don’t appreciate Him as much etc, relationship with lord in therefore subjective and purity of heart makes us understand Him better).

The two beautiful young princes of Ayodhya, fair and dark, were in the focus of every eye of those present who had come from all over (such was teir eye catching beauty that none could shift the glance away from them).

We have now covered up to Doha 242 of Balkand.

Bhavani Shankar ki Jai!
