II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II

We covered up to Doha 247 of Balkand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas in the last post and learned that no comparison was possible to describe splendor and grace of Sita with any example or to select any ordinery lady from society equalling Sita’s charm. The different goddesses though very virtuous and with divine beauty also did come any where near due to some or other weakness in their cases. Even a poets best imagined person would not allow him to declare analogous to Sita.

Sita’s accompanying wise and grown up friends kept singing songs in their meloious voices. A beautiful Sari (a long unstiched cloth of fine quality to drape around body) covered Sita’s youthful body and Jagat-Janani (mother of universe)Sita looked extraordinerily beautiful in it. Sita wore variety of ornaments all suitably placed and her various limbs were decorated with coloring stuff (like Mehndi etc)by her female friends with special care.

When Sita step inside the arena for the event, all the ladies and gentlemen present there became fascinated by her beauty. From the heavens above, gods sounded with trumpets blowing and celestial damsels started singing and showering flowers. Sita held a Jaimaal (wreath of victory)in her lotus like hands which looked very nice. Sita looked around hurriedly at the princes with a view to locate Shri Ram with her heart pounding but this made the gathered princes become dumb. When Sita saw the two brothers duly seated alongside Muni Vishwamitra her eyes got transfixed on them as if long lost traesure had been located.

Later Sita became nervous finding all the elders of family and seniors in society sitting around in big numbers and feeling shy she shifted her glance to look at her female friends but keeping image of Raghubeer (hero among Raghus)in her heart.

we have now covered up to Doha 248 of Balkand.
