II Shree Guruvey Namah II

Jai Shri Ram,

II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II
II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II
II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II

We covered up to Doha 258 of Balkand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas and learned that Sita while soaking the beauty of Shri Ram by looking is equally concerned and distressed at Her father’s thoughtless vow; she thinks that Janak’s ministers did not give him right advice and neither the wise elders in society cared to see the futility behind such a vow. She thinks that Ram is of tender body and the bow of Shiv is made of very hard stuff and is heavy too. She even wants the bow made of material to look at Ram which would make it have a soft heart and become light by transferring its own foolishness of being heavy while Ram like decent and loveable person is ready to lift it. She finds that time has stopped moving for her and feels Her mind giving unbearable pain and becomes busy looking at Ram now and at earth then.

Her lotus-like mouth restrained Sita’s bee-like voice in side as if it didn’t want it to escape in the night time due to save its own modesty (the lotus closes at night and bees which hover near it to drink nectar get trapped). Sita’s tears also did not fall out of eyes though eyes got filled with tears, in the same manner as a very miserly person keeps his gold. Sita now was aware of Her own great mental stress and wanted to become regain Her confidence and bring back Her optimism. She thought, “My resolve is true in terms of thought, word and action (when these three faculties become directed by just one resolve, the success has to happen) and I have placed my conscience at the lotus feet of Raghupati Shri Ram totally. If this is true then O God, you remain present in every heart (and therefore must be aware of what is status of my conscious thought) and must make me an exclusive servant of Shri Ram. It is a well-known fact that one who has a true love for someone gets him (i e the beloved) in the end and without doubt and unfailingly.”

Sita then stiffened bodily due to excessive love for Ram when She set Her intense glance on Ram. Ram, the mercy-ful Lord knew all about what was going on in Sita’s heart. He saw Sita (with love) first and then at the bow in a manner like Garuda (the king of birds and carrier of Lord Vishnu who is also a sworn enemy of serpents) looks at some small-sized serpent (Ram wished to give strength to Sita by looking at bow in this manner (smallest gesture and actions mean a lot more than a whole volley of words to some one who is so totally submerged in sea of emotions as Sita was at that moment).

When Lakshman saw that that Raghuvanshmani Shri Ram has sized up the bow of Shiv (i e the time for its being broken has arrived), his body became light and ready for action too and he wished to speak out (words of caution) but first put his foot firmly down to keep the universe in place (as Shiv happens to be the highest among gods, and when His bow going to be broken a big up-heaval was expected).

We have now covered up to Doha 259 of Balkand.
