Ramcharit Charcha CCLV

II Shree Guruvey Namah II

Jai Shri Ram,

II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II
II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II
II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II

We covered up to Doha 262 of Balkand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas in the last post and learned that Shri Ram dropped the two part of bow on the earth after breaking it without anyone noticing it, however, all the people felt very relieved and pleased now. Muni Vishwamitra was overly joyed seeing his disciple accomplished the impossible (he had known the reality of Lord Shri Ram but now had a proof). The gods and Munis praised Ram and blessed Him too. The whole space riverberated with proclaimations of Ram’s victory, the heavens joined in celebration and people gave substantial donations  liberally invoking gods to bless Shri Ram (as their heart felt desire was fulfilled and they saw in Ram someone their own, who does God not belong too and His charming form of a young prince was before them who was going to be married their daughter like Sita, what more befitting occasion to be liberal and large hearted was ever to be found in life).

All sorts of musical instruments were being played in orchatration at the venue and the young women sang auspicious strains. The queen i e mother of Sita along with her companions and close friends was very happy now, it was like a whither crop of rice due to lack water getting benefit of a timely shower and become alive. The remorse of Janak was gone and he felt heartened again in the same manner as a swimmer who is tired of swimming finds his feet resting on ground nearing shores.

The kings were now as colorless as a lamp loses shine up on the day break. As for Sita it was a moment like a Chatak (a bird) which only drinks water when it rains in Swati Nakshatra, a certain constellation and gets its after remaining thirsty for a long time. Lakshman looked at Ram in the manner like that of young Chatak (a bird) looks at moon (constantly so long as it appears on the horizon without blinking).

Muni Shataanad (from Janak’s side) then took charge and asked Sita to advance towards Ram (the formality of sealing the marriage was now to take place). Sita was then joined by beautiful and talented companions who started singing and then lead Sita who took forward steps like a young cygnet, her gait displayed the immense grace of movement of limbs.

We have covered up to Doha 263 of Balkand.
