Ramchari Charcha CCLVI

II Shree Guruvey Namah II

Jai Shri Ram,

II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II
II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II
II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II

We covered up to Doha 263 of Balkand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas in the lat post and learned that the people were very upbeat after Ram broke the bow and celebrations were joined by all. Janak was out of his remorseful state and Sita had a new lease of life while the kings lost their pride and confidence. Sita now looked at Ram with a sense of relief and Lakshman with eyes fixed on Him as his hero. Muni Shatanand then wanted Sita to come forward (towards Ram) and she stepped gracefully towards Ram along with her singing companions.

Sita, in the midst of her friends who were all themselves very beautiful, seemed to have an extra-ordinery kind of beauty. She was holding a beautiful wreath in Her lotus hands which reflected that it was for a one who had charmed everyone after gaining a triumphant victory over the whole universe (by breaking the bow of Mahadev Shiv).

Sita displayed some reluctance with her body language but was overly enthusiastic (with prospect of now having the opportunity to garland Her dear one) but Her divine and mysterious love for Ram was not showing outwardly (the depth of Her love could not have been possible to measure with instruments of the world).

When Sita sensed Ram’s charming aura from near, She became statue like, her wise friends then brought her back to present by talking to her convincingly that it was time to make use of beautiful garland meant for Shri Ram. Sita then lifted the wreath with both hands but failed again to garland Shri Ram as Her love for Shri Ram made her perplexed. Sita’s two arms and hands looked like two lotuses with stalks had risen up to garland moon (moon like face of Ram seemed to her at a far distance) and Sita feared that it was not going to be possible for Her to garland Shri Ram.

It was at that moment that Sita’s companions sang in unison influenced by the beauty (of two) they saw and Sita finally did put the wreath round the neck of Shri Ram.

When the gods saw that Ram was putting on wreath of victory round His neck, they started showering flowers and the kings shrank within themselves as the lillies do when the the see sun up in the sky (Ram of the sun-dynasty had been shining like sun and the kings had now not been left with any pride, the false egos suffer situations like this. If egoist kings had seen Ram as Supreme God like other gentle kings, they would have enjoyed the moment).

We have now covered up to Doha 264 of Balkand.

Bhavani Shankar Ki Jai!
Prabhu Shri Ram Ki Jai!
