Jai Shri Ram,

II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II

We covered up to Doha 270 of Balkand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas and learned that Muni Parasuram has angrily demanded Janak to disclose name of the one who broke the bow of Shiv but Janak was afraid to tell who it was. Sita’s mother, Sita herself and the people, all worried as to what was now due and were uneasy about threat coming from Parasuram just ater the requisite had happened. Shri Ram noted the concern of people and of Sita and felt duty bound to come forward and disclose the fact before Muni (as He Himself was the one who Muni was looking for).

Ram began to address Muni Parasuram quietly saying, ” O Master, it is only a servant of you who has broken the bow of Shiv. What ever it is that you want now done, you may please order me to do.”
Up on listening to what Ram said, Muni replied irritably as per his nature, ” a servant is one who serves (as per liking of master) but here he has acted showing animosity to begin a war. Listen O Ram, whoever has dared to break the bow of Shiv is an enemy like Sahasbahu (a thousand armed king whose arms were cut down by Parasuram i e who had been a king having thousands of ways to fight was defeated by Muni). Such a one should immediately be seperated from the rest and pointed out to me, otherwise all the kings will be killed.”

Lakshman had been paying attention to what Muni was saying and smiled, he then said to the Muni, “O Goswami (a sadhu who has control over senses, Lakshman sarcastically so addressed the Muni because he was not showing restraint) we broke many small bows in our childhood but never ever saw you so much enraged, why then you have such fondness for only this one.”

Muni Parasuram, the chief of Bhrigu clan, noted what Lakshman said and replied in a charged manner,” O Son of King, you seem to be near the end of your life and therefore are not speaking with due regard; you consider the bow of Tripurari (Shiv, who had killed demon Tripur, who had influence in all three worlds) as some insigificant bow while all world is aware was it is.”

We have now covered up to Doha 271 of Balkand.
