It was a superior and well trained steed that Ram was astride, even Sharda, the goddess of speech, couldn’t have described it fully; Lord Shiv looked fondly at Ram and got absorbed in His beauty, at this stage Lord Shiv was very happy to have fifteen eyes (Lord Shiv is supposed to have five faces and also three eyes for each face making it a total of fifteen, he was therefore able to look at Ram with fifteen eyes and was happy for it). Similarly Lord Hari looked at Ram keenly and He too along with Rama (His consort Goddess Laxmi) got absorbed in beauty of Shri Ram. When Brahma, the creator, looked at Shri Ram he felt sorry for his having just eight eyes (Brahma is supposed to have four faces looking in four directions).

The chief commander of army of gods i e Swami Kartikeya (who has six faces) was happy that he had at least one and half times number of eyes compared to Brahma (one of the chief gods). Lord Indra, the cunning chief of the gods, was very happy to look at Shri Ram with thousand eyes and he was today elated to have been cursed by Gautam Rishi (to have thousand eye-holes when he had cheated Ahalya) and thought that even curse became a reward (it tells us that even wrath shown by the realized sage like Rishi Gautam results in ultimate good, such people can’t really think of harming any body, they just want to put every one on right path). The rest of the gods were envious for this viewing power of Indra, they thought none of them could match Indra’s status (Indra is supposed to be lord of mind and mind is the only such sense that can look at any thing with a thousand different angles, this is weakness as well as strength of mind only it has to go in right or wrong direction for right or wrong results).

This is how the many different gods kept delightfully looking at Ram and also benignly looked at the people from the side of both the kings with special interest.

Both kings and their people in opposite directions were very happily enjoying themselves surrounded by loud beating of drums. The gods were raining flowers, joyfully shouting ‘victory to Ram, glory to Ram’. Learning through the sound of musical instruments that Barat was about to reach, Queen Sunayana gathered married women and with their help prepared for auspiciously greeting the bridegroom and party; the superior ladies with graceful strides like that of an elephant then proceeded to do Aarti with all the pious and auspicious items in happy and upbeat mood.

We have now covered up to Doha 317 of Balkand.

Bhavani Shankar Ki Jai!
Prabhu Shri Ram Ki Jai!
Sant Samaj Ko Pranam!
Goswami Tulsidas Ki Jai!
