We covered up to Doha 322 of Balkand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas in the last post and learned that Muni Vashishtth indicated that the Muhurat was now near and in turn Muni Satanand directed Queen
Sunayana to bring Sita to the central pavilion. Sunayanaji then very happily summoned her companions and elderly ladies and adorned Sita with great care and concern; Sita then stepped out surrounded by graceful and smart groups of ladies among whom were present the consorts of superior gods too. Sita looked so remarkably beautiful in the midst of her friends as if the most exquisite charm itself had taken human form.

Tulsi says, “the extent of beauty and charm of Sita is immeasurable and is difficult to describe, particularly for my small intellect as its elegance and attraction is far too much.”

When the Baraties saw Sita coming, She looked to them possessing enormous quantity of beauty but pious to the core; all of them bowed down in reverence with in their hearts. When Ram saw Her, He felt like having had all His desires fulfilled.

King Dahsrath and his other sons also felt surge of great pleasure in their hearts at that moment. The gods also bowed down respectfully for Sita and showered flowers. The Munis gave their blessings which is always the very basis of good and auspicious happenings of life. The continuous singing and the music created a noisy but pleasant atmosphere which filled every heart with pleasure and love.

Sita arrived at the pavilion while Munis did Swasti-vachan (recital of Vedic hymns invoking peace and gods); the two Kul-Gurus performed all the rituals as per Vedic-syatem and as per traditional practice.

After finishing other rituals, the Gurus and Vipras took charge of Puja of Gauri and Ganpati being performed by Sita and Ram. The gods arrived there in person to accept the offering made during Puja and blessed, while giving their blessing they felt very elated and pleased. The mixture of five items (honey, curd, milk, butter-oil and sugar) called Madhupark or Panchamrut which was to be offered as also other required items of Puja were ready in the hands of helpers in vessels of copper and gold to be made available as soon as the Munis required them in the course of Puja.

The family traditions were explained with love and pleasure by Sun-god himself being the head of Sun-dynasty and all his instructions were carried out with due regard, in this manner all the gods were worshiped by Sita and then she was given a nice and comfortable seat. Ram and Sita watched each other in an unnoticeable manner and exchange of their love-glance remained a secret for all. Their love for each other was beyond comprehension for even the great minds, the sharp intellects and the speech of poets also could not have described it (the relationship of Sita and Ram, their extent of love for each other is all a mystery, its not fathomable by even the wisest and most knowledgeable, it can reflect in the heart of only Bhaktas who after having this great understanding can’t speak out in words).

When the Yagnas were performed and the sacred fire was lit up and when the offerings were poured in it, the Agni-devta (the fire god who is blessed to be the mouth of all gods to accept the offering poured in to the sacred fire on behalf of all gods) appeared personally to accept offerings. The Vedas took form of Vipras and told all the process and procedure of the performance of the marriage of Ram and Sita (they wished to be relevant by being instrumental in marriage of Shri Ram and Bhagwati Sita).

We have now covered up to Doha 323 of Balkand.

Bhavani Shankar Ki Jai!
Prabhu Shri Ram Ki Jai!

Krishna Khandelwal
