We covered up to Doha 342 of Balkand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas in the last post and learned that King Janak expressed his gratitude towards Ram for accepting him as someone His own and said that he had an unparalleled fortune on that account. King Janak also mentioned that Shri Ram has such abundance of virtues that nobdy could describe. In his own humble opinion he could mention one most prominent one that is Shri Ram’s appreciation of devotee’s love for Himself. Janak was then given a treatment equaling that Ram used to give His father and Guru. Later Janak met with other sons-in-law in a similar manner and blessed them.

The brothers took leave of Janak in a very polite manner giving him due respect and joined elder brother Ram. King Janak then went to Muni Vishwamitra and grabbed his feet, he took the dust of Muni’s feet to head and eyes (denoting that he had totally got the message of Muni Vishwamitra and had embedded it in his mind and had gained the vision that made him see in Shri Ram the God Supreme). He told Muni that there remained nothing unfathomable after he had the insightful personal interaction with the great Muni, such was his belief. Janak told Muni that the very sight of Guru Vishwamitra had provided him all that kind of pleasure, name & fame that the kings long for but whom can they ask i e not ask others (being responsible themselves for the provisions for all their countrymen and not having anybody else to look up to for it); saying such humble words King Janak time again bowed down before Muni. Muni gave his blessings to the king and the king now saw it proper to return back and did. The marriage party also moved while drum beats filled the skies, all of them, the aged and the young, were happy now in the company of there own groups. The villagers, man and women, felt very pleased to have a glimpse of Shri Ram, it was a big reward for their eyes.

In this manner the marriage party, halting at many places and giving occasion to people on its way to be happy and delighted (by having glimpse of Shri Ram), reached the outskirt of Ayodhya on an auspicious and pious day.

We have now covered up to Doha 343 of Balkand.
