We covered up to Doha 7 of Ayodhya Kand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas in the last of and learned that the king had put all his people and ministers under command of Muni Vashishttha to make arrangements for Shri Ram’s coronation and all of them did all that was entrusted them very promptly. The king engaged himself in performance of all prescribed rituals, the whole region called Avadh began to resonate with loud drumming and exchange of greetings. Ram and Sita noticed body limbs indicating approach of good times and thought that it was because Bharat was going to be there shortly, Ram had been longing to meet him and felt that he had gone for a very long time. The people and the queens in the palace interiors who learnt of the welcome news were upbeat now.

Those who first delivered the news of Ram’s impending coronation got presents in form of clothes and ornaments from the queens who then busied themselves in preparing the Mangal Kalashas greatly thrilled in body and with love drenched heart. Mother Sumitra sketched lovely designs on the floor and used precious stones to decorate it. Mother of Shri Ram, Mata Kaushlya, who was overwhelmed with joy called Vipras and offered them gifts and money; she worshiped the village deity, the gods and the Nagas, promised them more out of the sacrifices to made later and prayed for their graceful blessings for welfare of Shri Ram. The beautiful ladies, who had sweet voice like cuckoo, had moon-like faces and had eyes like that of a fawn, began to sing festive and propitious songs.

That Ram was going to be the king made ladies and gents of the city of Ayodhya very very happy and they thought that the Vidhata, the creator, was now favorable to them (as it was their secret wish that was going to be fulfilled); all of them began to tastefully dress up for the happy event.

(What had become the talk of the town was still not known to Shri Ram for no one yet had reached Him to inform of the development but since there was hectic activity in line with direction of Muni Vashishttha the citizens and servants had become aware of what had been planned with Ram in the center.)
