We covered up to Doha 104 of Ayodhya Kand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas in he last post and we learned that Sita prayed before Mother Ganges and wished to be blessed that she returns safely along with her lord Shri Ram and her Devar Shri Lakshman when the period of exile is over and has fortune of once again worshiping her (Ganges) and Maa Ganga blessed her accordingly giving Sita reason to be relieved and happy. Shri Ram then instructed Guha to leave for home but when Guha wished to accompany Him for showing way in to the jungles and serve for some mote time Shri Ram allowed Guha to come along which made Guha happy again. Later, bowing down before Ganga and remembering Lord Ganesha and Bhagwaan Shiv, Lord Shri Ram, Sita, Lakshman and Guha resumed their journey.

The first day gone, Shri Ram retired for the night; Lakshman and the friend Guha arranged for all necessary things there. When it was morning Shri Ram first observed the morning routine and rituals and went to visit the king of the Tirthas (holy-places), the Prayag. This king has the Truth as his minister, the devotional belief as the consort and a friend in shape of the presiding deity there known as Bindu-Madhav. Its coffers remain full with the four-fold rewards (the Dharma, Artha, Kaam and Moksha, these are granted as gift to the visitors of the place i e those who visit become worthy of and capable of achieving these desired goals of life). The whole surroundings that come to be known as Prayag, is very pious and sacred besides being very beautiful and charming. In this region stands a grand edifice which is not surmountable by the army of enemies because it has its own army of braves in the form of many holy-places surrounding it and this army is fully equipped to crush the army of various sins that attack with their great resisting power. It has its magnificent seat right at the confluence point of the two great rivers Ganages and Yamuna. The royal umbrella over its head is the Akshay Vata (the tree that is immortal, this is reference to such a tree that is there even today) which captivates even the hearts of Munis (who stay under this big tree). It is served with waves of river Ganges and Yamuna which when watched with devotion, the sorrows and wants disappear.

By serving and enjoying at this point righteous and pious saints get all that their minds looks for; the Vedas and Puranas sing the praises of this Place (Prayad) which abounds in unblemished virtues.

(Goswami Tulsidas here beautifully conceived picture of the most revered Thirtha that is Prayaag as a kingdom which takes care all the needs of the seekers and devotees and protects them from the army of enemies (of sins). This place offers ample food, wide expense of sanded riverbed, the trees and the purest water. It is here that nature is seen engaged in Yagnas in all its aspects. Here people with different philosophies engage in dialogues in total peace and enlighten each other and in the end conclude in such a manner that the truth is found which flows as a single stream post confluence of different streams of thought represented by blackish water of Yamuna and white water of Ganges mixing and flowing calmly as single stream. It is here that Kumbha takes place every 12 years and it is here in the month of Magha saints converge to stay together every year.)

Who on earth can wholly describe the glory of Prayag which is like a lion to dismiss the herd of elephants like big sins. When Shri Ram saw such exclusive and important Tirth, He, though Himself an ocean bliss, found it pleasure giving and amiable. Shri Ram then explained the glories of the king of Tirthas to Sita, Lakshman and Guha with His own gracious mouth which utters words only to give importance and exalting status to the holy men, holy places.

After reverentially saluting it (Prayag), Shri Ram went round the gardens and forest in the vicinity and kept explaining the greatness of each point with sincere affection. This is how they reached the point where the Ganges, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati are merging (this point is known as Triveni) and looked around; Triveni ensures welfare of all even when just remembered (here they were present right there hence specially felt obliged by it). All of them bathed there happily and performed Puja of Lord Shiv and worshiped the deity of the Tirtha observing all rituals in process. Afterwards Lord Shri Ram went to Ashram of Muni Bharadwaj and prostrated before Him while Muni lifted Him and brought Him up and took in embrace. The Muni enjoyed inexplicable bliss; he was as thrilled as to have abundance of Brahmanand (the blissful pleasure that is felt up on meeting i e knowing the Brahman, the Supreme Lord of Universe).

Superior among he Munis, Muni Bharawaj gave blessing to Shri Ram feeling exalted and transcendent in his own heart at having such good fortune as to meet the avatar of the Supreme God Himself in person; it was as if Brahma, the creator had presented the fruit of his past good-deeds and Tapas right in front to feel and observe.

(Shri Ram as avatar is known to go to the seeker saints who have done great Tapas and engaged in serving the society without selfish motives Himself rather then let them wander in search of Him. It is more important to serve the Lord where we are and live a righteous life rather then wander looking for the Lord; when time comes He promptly gets manifested for the benefit of Sadhus and devotees.)

We have now covered up to Doha 106 of Ayodhya Kand.

Bhavani Shankar Ki Jai!
Shri Jankivallabho Vijayatey!
Sant Samaj Ko Pranam!
Goswami Tulsidas Ki Jai!
