जड़ चेतन मग जीव घनेरे। जे चितए प्रभु जिन्ह प्रभु हेरे।।
ते सब भए परम पद जोगू। भरत दरस मेटा भव रोगू।।
यह बड़ि बात भरत कइ नाहीं। सुमिरत जिनहि रामु मन माहीं।।
बारक राम कहत जग जेऊ। होत तरन तारन नर तेऊ।I
भरतु राम प्रिय पुनि लघु भ्राता। कस न होइ मगु मंगलदाता।।
सिद्ध साधु मुनिबर अस कहहीं। भरतहि निरखि हरषु हियँ लहहीं।।
देखि प्रभाउ सुरेसहि सोचू। जगु भल भलेहि पोच कहुँ पोचू।।
गुर सन कहेउ करिअ प्रभु सोई। रामहि भरतहि भेंट न होई।।
दो0-रामु सँकोची प्रेम बस भरत सपेम पयोधि।
बनी बात बेगरन चहति करिअ जतनु छलु सोधि।।217।।

We covered up to Doha 217 of Ayodhya Kand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas in the last post and learned that all those trees and animal which had occasion of having sight of Shri Ram and had been touched by Him while going on this very path were entitled to be have their place in the realm of Lord after death but those who had occasion to see Bharat going passing now through it are going to be cured of all kinds of worldly afflictions. Those who utter ‘Ram’ even once in their lives become capable of crossing over the ocean of without drowning and also become helpers to others, Bharat is constantly remembered by Shri Ram in his own heart hence can well have powers to cure people of worldly troubles. The Munis, Sadhus and Siddhas along the way saw that the path traversed by Bharat had become pleasurable and benevolent naturally for he is most dear to Ram besides being His younger brother and were happy to see him go. But Indra, the head of gods became worried that Bharat might force Shri Ram to return to Ayodhya due the extent of love between the two which will spoil gods own cause hence prayed Guru Brihaspati to device and apply ways to stop this from happening.

बचन सुनत सुरगुरु मुसकाने। सहसनयन बिनु लोचन जाने।।
मायापति सेवक सन माया। करइ त उलटि परइ सुरराया।।
तब किछु कीन्ह राम रुख जानी। अब कुचालि करि होइहि हानी।।
सुनु सुरेस रघुनाथ सुभाऊ। निज अपराध रिसाहिं न काऊ।।
जो अपराधु भगत कर करई। राम रोष पावक सो जरई।।
लोकहुँ बेद बिदित इतिहासा। यह महिमा जानहिं दुरबासा।।
भरत सरिस को राम सनेही। जगु जप राम रामु जप जेही।।
दो0-मनहुँ न आनिअ अमरपति रघुबर भगत अकाजु।
अजसु लोक परलोक दुख दिन दिन सोक समाजु।।218।।

The Guru of the gods smiled listening to the request of Indra and thought that he is supposed to have a thousand eyes (the story is already told earlier) but lacks to power to observe and said told, “O The Master of gods, if any trick is applied to wrongly influence the devotee and servant of the Lord of Maya (deceptive force beguiling the world) then it affects back the practitioner; earlier it was possible to do (in case of Kaikeyi through Manthara) because it had Shri Ram’s own will merging with it but now any faulty move will rebound and damage us only. O Indra, you must learn by heart the basic character of Raghunath Shri Ram that He never is upset with those who commit sins aimed at Himself but those who do harm to His devotees is sure to burn under fire of Shri Ram’s anger. This finds mention in folklore as well as in Puranic stories; Muni Durvasa knows it very well too (Muni Durvasa once had become adamant against King Ambreesh raising an impossible demand and wished to curse him by invoking Lord Vishnu but Lord Vishnu directed his Sudarshan Chakra (divine discus) to punish Durvasa rather than harm Ambreesh, His own devotee). Bharat has no one close to the level of love he has for Shri Ram; Bharat is repeatedly taken name of by Lord Shri Ram as He often remembers him, the very same Shri Ram whom the whole world remembers and whose name uttered in times of distress or routinely.”

“O the Lord of Immortals, you must not even think of putting obstacles in path of Bharat, a Bhakta of the Great Raghu Shri Ram, it will bring bad name to you in this world and will cause miseries in next life besides giving you sorrowful times in daily course of living.”

(Here we all have a very important message to take note of. Many times when we talk lightly about God or even doubt about His existence and some times even speak in deprecating way about Him, we are not punished for it. But it is an altogether a matter of different tidings, if a devotee, a servant of God is harmed and is harassed; in such a case the Lord’s wrath is sure to punish the person so engaged.)
