गरइ गलानि कुटिल कैकेई। काहि कहै केहि दूषनु देई।।
अस मन आनि मुदित नर नारी। भयउ बहोरि रहब दिन चारी।।
एहि प्रकार गत बासर सोऊ। प्रात नहान लाग सबु कोऊ।।
करि मज्जनु पूजहिं नर नारी। गनप गौरि तिपुरारि तमारी।।
रमा रमन पद बंदि बहोरी। बिनवहिं अंजुलि अंचल जोरी।।
राजा रामु जानकी रानी। आनँद अवधि अवध रजधानी।।
सुबस बसउ फिरि सहित समाजा। भरतहि रामु करहुँ जुबराजा।।
एहि सुख सुधाँ सींची सब काहू। देव देहु जग जीवन लाहू।।
दो0-गुर समाज भाइन्ह सहित राम राजु पुर होउ।
अछत राम राजा अवध मरिअ माग सबु कोउ।।273।।

We covered up to Doha 273 of Ayodhya Kand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas in the last post and learned that Kaikeyi, the wicked queen of Ayodhya, thought very poorly of herself in Chitrakoot for what she had done but did’t have any one to blame or speak to when she learned of arrival of King Janak. People of Ayodhya however felt happy now, seeing possibility of further stay with Shri Ram and relaxed for the whole day that day. Next morning after bathing and worshiping their preferred deities they prayed for granting of their wish that Shri Ram’s rule gets established in Ayodhya for a long unbroken period till their death making Ayodhya the capital of limitless joys and happiness and also wished that Bharar be declared crown prince of Ayodhya by Shri Ram (considering him to be as much competent as Himself).

सुनि सनेहमय पुरजन बानी। निंदहिं जोग बिरति मुनि ग्यानी।।
एहि बिधि नित्यकरम करि पुरजन। रामहि करहिं प्रनाम पुलकि तन।।
ऊँच नीच मध्यम नर नारी। लहहिं दरसु निज निज अनुहारी।।
सावधान सबही सनमानहिं। सकल सराहत कृपानिधानहिं।।
लरिकाइहि ते रघुबर बानी। पालत नीति प्रीति पहिचानी।।
सील सकोच सिंधु रघुराऊ। सुमुख सुलोचन सरल सुभाऊ।।
कहत राम गुन गन अनुरागे। सब निज भाग सराहन लागे।।
हम सम पुन्य पुंज जग थोरे। जिन्हहि रामु जानत करि मोरे।।
दो0-प्रेम मगन तेहि समय सब सुनि आवत मिथिलेसु।
सहित सभा संभ्रम उठेउ रबिकुल कमल दिनेसु।।274।।

The love drenched call of people of Ayodhya wishing Shri Ram to rule over them could make practices of Yoga and observation of dispassion etc look inferior in the eyes of Munis and the Gyanis (they saw that these most ordinary people were slated to achieve the same fate as them after death only due to their love for  Shri Ram and His presence before them as their king at the time of their death, a definitely a more easy and laudable means to achieve Nirvana).  It became routine for the citizens of Ayodhya to do Pranam to Shri Ram daily with their bodies thrilling with joy. The men and women, of high middle or low status, used to have Darshan of Shri Ram in their own specific manner without inconveniencing any one or disturbing the social order but with the intensity of devotion which was individually their own (this signifies that how one keeps his nearness to the Lord in physical terms is not that very important but the nearness of the heart is more important which is independent of status and opportunity). All used to be recognized and given honor  by the merciful Lord and all used to praise Him very devotedly. They had seen that the great Raghu Shri Ram since His childhood observed the highest level of conduct and best manner of speaking while he answered every individual giving weight to level of their affection for Himself.

Here in Chitrakoot also they discussed the politeness, the noble refrain to be found in good measure in His personality. They appreciated the good looks of Shri Ram and also His attractive eyes besides the simplicity of character. With mention of very many qualities of Shri Ram in this manner the people became very affectionate towards Shri Ram and celebrated their being very very fortunate. They had a feeling that they were rich in terms of having done noble and righteous deeds and there are only a few with such qualification in the world, as a result of which they were taken by Shri Ram to be His own (and rightly so, it is not the fortune of every one to be born in Ayodhya in times when Shri Ram, the Lord of Universe, takes a form as avatar in human form and relates to Jeevas in ordinary course. Only Bhakto-bhaav is needed for Bhakti i e for devotion only devotional trait is what is needed, rest is secondary).

Right when all the people were engrossed, feeling great love for Lord Shri Ram who was present before their eyes, they received news of arrival of the king of Mithila there and immediately Shri Ram, the one who was like sun for the lotus like members of the sun-race, rose with concern along with others while air of suspense hung in the atmosphere.
