This is further to Doha 6 of Aranya Kand in Ramcharit Mansas of Tulsidas which we covered in the last post.

The Lord of gods, of Munis and of ordinary people left the place after bowing down at the lotus feet of Muni Attri. Shri Ram was ahead of His younger brother Lakshman, both attractively dressed in garb of Munis, and Sita referred here as Shree (the goddess of riches), in between the two, looked poised like Maya between the Jeeva and Brahman (the connection between Brahman and Jeeva is through Maya and this Maya is very dear to Lord and is to be respected by Jeevas too, Jeeva gets distracted by the influence of Maya only when he doesn’t have his attention centered on Brahman).

In their way came rivers, forests, hills and deep valleys which let them pass with ease because they had recognized that Shri Ram was their Lord only. The clouds provided protection from sun where ever Shri Ram went. On the way a demon known a Viradh appeared whom Shri Ram instantly knocked down but he assumed his original beautiful form as a result and was grieved that he was leading a cursed life so Shri Ram sent him to his own abode (Viradh was divine creature but was cursed to live in forest and could not be killed by use of weapons).

Shri Ram, accompanied by younger brother and Sita, then reached where Muni Sharbhang had been camping; Muni Sharbhang turned to look at Shri Ram’s lotus like face with his eyes that were now acting like bees and were drinking the beauty of His face with great respect and attention, this was the moment when Sharbhang received the best reward for being born.

We have now covered up to Doha 7 of Aranya Kand.
