We covered up to Doha 41 of Aranya Kand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas in the last post this is further to it.

Shri Ram appreciated the extraordinarily attractive and enticing lake where he had reached under advice of Shabari and bathed there enjoying a blissful state (He was after all in the midst of a place where every thing and being was spreading and offering all kinds of pleasures without any expectations in return). There Raghuraj Shri Ram selected a nice tree and settled down under its shade. Finding Lord in good mood, there came all the Munis living around and also the gods to meet him and went back to their respective abodes after singing praises of Him.

The Gracious Lord sitting there in a very upbeat mood now, took the occasion to relate many educative and interesting stories to His younger brother Lakshman (all the elders should at times impart knowledge and tell nuances of right conduct in this way for the benefit of younger members of family).

Muni Narad had seen the Lord earlier grieving on account of separation from Sita and he himself was upset for it. Narad thought that it was due to the curse he had himself hurled at the Lord (as Vishnu) at one time, honoring that He, as Ram, is intensely suffering in many ways. Narad decided that he must immediately go and visit such a Lord (who even keeps the sanctity of offending words of His devotees) because such an occasion (when He is not surrounded by people) might not ever be available. With such thought Muni Narad holding his Veena (a musical instrument) reached the point where where Shri Ram was seated comfortably. Narad went there singing sweetly the glories of Shri Ram covering many angles of His conduct as Ramavatar with heart filled with love. Lastly when Narad bowed down at feet of Shri Ram, he was picked up in arms by the Lord and brought to bosom many a times. Asking Narad’s welfare eic., Shri Ram made him to sit close to Himself. Lakshman then washed the feet of the Muni with respect in line with the custom.

Realizing that Lord now was happy within (after a long period of grieving for Sita; it is one’s duty to overcome even the worst kind of grief after a reasonable period of grieving about it), Narad pleaded before the Lord and sought attention, then Narad Muni, with his lotus like hands joined together, began to submit before Him.

We have now covered up to Doha 41 of Aranya Kand.
