II Shree Guruvey Namah II
Jai Shri Ram,
II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II
II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram II
II Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai jai Ram II
Shri Ram now listened to Bali speaking very softly and promptly touched Bali’s head with His hand (acknowledging that He now knew about Bali having got over with attitude of arrogance and signalling that Bali now deserved to be rewarded). Shri Ram then told Bali,”I may make your body strong again and enable you to have your life preserved.”
Bali then responded by saying, “Munis try very hard, birth after birth, to be able to utter ‘Ram’ while its moment of last breath but still miss out. On strength of that whose very name (Ram), Lord Shankar, in the holy city of Kashi, grants a right over smooth path that leads to the abode of the eternal God, the Supreme Lord. I luckily find Him (who is known as Ram) as subject of my eyes and I can see Him in person; do you think such co-incidence ever is possible for any one to ensure by his own efforts (i e it is only possible when Lord is kind enough to shower His graces),O Lord.”
Then Bali began to pour his heart out before the Lord,”whose praises are sung and qualities are discussed by Vedas continuously, the same one is now present before my eyes enabling me to use my sense of seeing to absorb the beauty of the Lord. It is only rarely that Munis are able to bring Him in contemplation and concentrate on Him by winning the mind which as difficult to control as air and by training the senses to not look for attractions in the mundane world. Lord, you might have taken me as one afflicted with disease of arrogance and therefore think that I am still interested in enjoying the world through body hence have suggested to let me have body back intact. But just think who would be so foolish as to insist on cutting down the wish granting divine tree and water the tree of Babool which has only thorns to offer (i e will maintain the body that can only be cause of many pricks).
“Master, just show Your mercy by looking at me with kind eye of Yours and grant the boon I wish to ask now. I want to be able to to have affection for Your feet in whatever form of life I get in my future births due to my past Karmas.”
“Lord, this is my son Angad, who is like me only; You may kindly support him by holding his arm and make him Your own servant that would ensure his welfare, O Lord of gods, this is my humble submission before you and my last wish,” Bali concluded.
In this manner reinforcing his affection for the feet of Shri Ram, Bali dropped his body like an elephant drops down a garland of flowers from its neck without even noticing that some thing has dropped (those who have sight of Lord at the final hour and concentrate on His feet, feel no pain when their soul leaves the body unlike those who find it painful due to thoughts of the world still passing through their conscience).
We have now covered up to Doha 10 of Kishkindha Kand.
