Sugreev concluded that if his team of monkeys had not been able to find the whereabouts of Sita, they wouldn’t have dared to eat the fruits of Madhuban; while such thoughts were engaging the mind of the King Sugreev, the leaders of the team arrived along with the team members. All of them then paid obeisances unto the king; the king in turn met everyone with affection. Upon Sugreev enquiring their welfare they said, “we are only well after looking at your feet and particularly because we have done what we set out to do, all due to grace of the Shri Ram, the Lord. O Master, it is Hanuman who did it and therefore it is him who has saved the lives of us all (none wanted to falsely claim to be the one behind success and none wished to be thankless; this attitude is what keeps teams united and let’s them remain committed to the objective).”

Listening about the accomplishments of Hanuman, Sugreev met him once more and accompanied by all he went to see Raghupati Shri Ram. When Shri ram saw the group of monkeys coming towards him he could make out that the task had been done and therefore felt most happy withing his heart.

(Shri Ram had known about the time limit of one month granted, to monkeys to return, by Sugreev, failing which if they returned without the news of Sita they stood to be killed; monkeys coming, alive, to see him now though beyond the time limit indicated success and caused happiness all the more. The deadlines are necessary to report failures but if success comes beyond the deadline then the deadline itself loses relevance, for even the strictest of bosses).

Both brothers, Shri Ram and Lakshman, had been sitting on crystal rock when the monkeys fell at their feet and they were met with love and concern by abundantly merciful Raghupati Shri Ram. Here too the monkeys responded saying that they were well and safe after seeing the lotus feet of the Lord when their welfare was inquired about by Shri Ram (success or failure, the real welfare lies in looking back at the Lord’s feet after every round of worldly or divine endeavor; if this happens then successes and failures become just a routine as per the scheme of things laid down by the Lord and none then leaves any extreme adverse impact on psyche of doers).

We have now covered up to Doha 29 of Sundar Kand.
