We covered up to Doha 31 of Sundar Kand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas in the last post and this is further to it.

Up on listening to woes of Sita from Hanuman, the Lord, who is known to be the very home of bliss, had tears in His lotus eyes and wondered, “the one who has faith in me as savior and depends on me while speaking through mouth, doing with body or while thinking, can he ever be in trouble even in a dream.”

Hanuman then replied back, “O Lord, the trouble in reality is only that which poses practical difficulty in remembering you through disturbance by mischief makers and physical constraint in worshiping You (which Sita is facing and in fact all Bhaktas find it a big impediment); in those moments when one misses to think of you, the trouble that in reality might not be trouble becomes an agonizing phenomenon (to save themselves from such situations Bhaktas have to cry badly and seek Your attention and help).

“Lord, the demons have no power to speak of otherwise; You must kindly therefore defeat the enemies of Janki Sita and bring her back.”

Shri Ram, now fully aware of what Sita has been facing, told Hanuman, “O Monkey, i now realize that none, whether a god, an ordinary person or even a muni, or any other being having a body, could have done me a favor like you have done. I find myself totally helpless in doing such a favor in return and therefore mentally i find myself unable to face you as an equal (such is the extent of the worth of a real devotee in eyes of the Lord, as they trace Bhakti and present an occasion for Him to meet it).

“O Son, I can never be free from my indebtedness to you (for what you have done); i have come to this conclusion after pondering over it (Hanuman had never married, he therefore could never have been helped by Shri Ram in a similar way in the event of being separated from wife).

Shri Ram, who descended on earth as savior of the gods, kept looking back at the monkey with eyes filled with tears and body thrilling.

Hanuman too looked at the face of the Lord with whole of his body displaying an inner joy after he listened to the words of the Lord; charged with intense love for the Lord, Hanuman fell at the feet of the Lord and kept calling out ‘save me, save me’ (as he was put on a high pedestal by the Lord and feared falling from that position i e he wished to be saved from any kind of thought of self-aggrandizement and being egoistic).

We have now covered up to Doha 32 of Sundar Kand.
