We covered up to Doha 2 in Lanka Kand of Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas in the last post and this is further to it.

Shri Ram, the Lord, further tells all, “those who will be having Darshan of Rameshwar Lord Shiv (i e will come to this spot and have pleasure of setting eye on the Linga of Lord Shiv which Shri Ram put up and worshiped), will surely reach My place (the sphere known as Lord’s home) up on having left their bodies.

“Someone who will take pains to bring Gangajal (the water of holy Ganges) and pour it on the the Linga of Lord Shiv here, will be so liberated that his soul merges in to Me after death (never ever being subjected to rebirth ever again).

“All those who will render service here without any expectation of reward and without any deceptive stance, will be granted My devotion by Lord Shankara himself.

“Furthermore, those who will have glimpse of the bridge that is being built here, will be able to cross over the ocean of being without much effort (for they will see the stones-which have no wisdom- floating in ocean as those stones had been inscribed with Ram’s name and will realize that though they themselves might be dumb, but if have name of Lord Shri Ram itched on their psyche will have strength to swim across the ocean of being without sinking in it).”

The words of Shri Ram pleased everyone present; and the great Munis who had come there to watch the ceremony went back to their respective places. Lord Shiv tells parvati at this stage, “O Girija (daughter of mountain), you may note how Raghupati Shri Ram conducts and practices; He always loves, keeps at heart the interest of, the ones who have sought His shelter.

“Nal and Neel, the experts in their job, constructed the bridge by the grace of the Lord Shri Ram and had their own renown spread like light in all directions.  The stones which sink themselves and sink also those who get tied with it became like boats; in the making of the bridge, it is not any reflection on virtue of ocean or on account of special qualities of the stones and neither that the skills of the moneys were work.

“It is that the stones were afloat on account of the might and influence of Raghuveer Shri Ram, the Lord. They are really bereft of sense who seek to remember and worship a different (imaginary) lord and master shifting attention away from Shri Ram (who in reality is the only one as Supreme Lord of Universe).”

(We should appreciate that the message of Shri Ram and of Lord Shiv is the same. Rameshwar therefore means both ways, the one who is Lord of Shri Ram, the scion of Raghu family and the one whose Lord is Shri Ram, the Supreme Lord.)

We have now covered up to Doha 3 of Lanka Kand.
