We covered up to Doha 3 of Lanka Kand in Ramcharit Manas of Tulsidas in the last post and this is further to it.

The bridge when completed was reinforced to make it stronger. Shri Ram, the merciful Lord, liked it very much. With out any further loss of time the army marched ahead in a manner that’s difficult to be described, the groups of monkey warriors were all making resounding noise. Raghupati Shri Ram also climbed the bridge and appreciatingly looked at the vastness of sea. The creatures living in sea water also eagerly came up to have a look at the Lord, the very embodiment of mercy, kindness and compassion. They were of various kinds like crocodiles, fishes and serpents and of numerous variety, some of which had immensely large bodies and some were very long in size. Some could eat most but there were some who could devour them too, even these had fear of some others. They refused to move away even when forced to while they were looking at the Lord; they were very pleased within and felt a great bodily comfort. It was difficult to notice the water they were floating on and they were totally absorbed in watching the beauty of Lord Hari.

(The glimpse of Lord necessarily makes all kinds of the being forget animosity with each other and stay calm therefore.)

The army marched on as the Lord ordered them to and the enormity of the gathering of monkeys was difficult to grasp. The bridge was now too crowded and the monkeys adopted the sky route as well as began to go across on the back sea creatures which had collected along the bridge.

We have now covered up to Doha 4 in Lanka Kand.

Watching this interesting spectacle the two brothers, gracious Raghupati Shri Ram and Lakshman had smile on their faces while themselves walking ahead. In this manner Raghuveer Shri Ram reached the other side of bridge along with the army which consisted of uncountable monkey warrior heads.

Across the ocean,  the Lord camped at the shore and gave freedom to monkeys to have tasty fruits and roots of their choice. Instructed in this way, the bears and moneys rushed in all directions and the trees around that region fructified for sake of Shri Ram, the Lord, defying restriction of seasons and time to ripe. The monkeys and bears enjoyed those tasty and juicy fruits, shook up the trees and also sent forth stones they found on hill-tops in direction of Lanka like missiles.

Where ever they came across a member from community of demons, they made him dance to their own tunes. Monkeys used to bite their noses and ears and would let go only after he had been told the glorious renown of the Lord. Those who had their noses and ears hurt and bleeding went straight to Ravan and related all that had been happening. When Ravan got the news about construction of bridge across the ocean, he perforce, out of feeling greatly anguished, exclaimed, “oh, they have tied the body that waters the forests, the expense that has lot of water, the sea, the vast ocean which is the lord of water. Has that huge collection of water, the home of tidal waves, the huge saline water body, the deep, the lord of rivers, truly been tamed.”

(Ravan never believed that impossible can happen, that the Lord can make unthinkable happen. Any one with tamed ego would have forgotten the idea of picking up fight with the Lord after seeing this accomplishment by monkeys under leadership of Shri Ram but bloated ego of Ravan will keep pushing him in wrong direction.)

We have now covered up to Doha 5 of Lanka Kand.
