Hanuman, struck by the blunt arrow of Bharat, fell over ground in an unconscious state but still muttering ‘Ram Ram…O Raghunayak…
Ram Ram’ (this is natural for those who constantly take Ram-Naam all the time to keep repeating it in all conditions). Bharat heard His most dear brother’s name, the most dear name that he ever longed for hearing, and rushed to get close to monkey with sense of urgency. Bharat found Hanuman in bad shape, giddy and fainted, hence brought him to his bosom and tried in many ways to wake him, bring in conscious state, but nothing worked. Bharat’s face turned pale and heart became heavy with grief; Bharat had tears in his eyes and groaned with a heavy heart,”the same fate that made me as an instrument of separation from Ram, seems to be at work ever now that I am subjected to this unbearable shock. If I hold love and affection for Ram’s lotus feet in heart, in speech and in deed all the time without any pretense then O Monkey come back negating impact and distress suffered through my arrow but only if Rahupati Shri Ram is favorable to me, benevolent towards me (for if this not be the fact then nothing matters to me).”

As soon as Hanuman listened to words of Bharat he instantly came back to life and got up (for Hanuman had been hearing from Shri Ram about Bharat and his virtues often) and uttered ‘victory to Shri Ram, let Kaushladheesh Shri Ram be winner’.

Bharat embraced Hanuman again, he was now quite overwhelmed and had tearful eyes. It seemed difficult for him to control his emotions once he had been reminded of his brother Shri Ram, the most admired and prominent member of Raghu’s race.

We have now covered up to Doha 59 of Lanka Kand.

Bharat asked Hanuman,”Brother, tell me welfare of Shri Ram, He is source and substance of joy, also of my younger brother Lakshman and Mother Janki Sita. Hanuman, the monkey, explained all matters related to Shri Ram. Now Bharat got concerned and sad and repented saying, “Ah, O lord of luck, why I have come on earth taking birth if I haven’t been able to serve my Lord and Master Shri Ram one bit.”

BHarat, brave and strong, recollected himself knowing that this was a delicate and tense moment and told Hanuman,”Brother, you might be delayed now and the mission that is given to you will be of no use if its over after the break of the day. Hence, I propose that you sit on my arrow holding the mountain block and it would take you directly to where Shri Ram, the merciful Lord is waiting.”

Hanuman however had his ego springing up a doubt as to how the arrow will even move taking my weight and of the mountain but being a devotee immediately came to a different conclusion due solely to the influence of Shri Ram’s presence in heart that this might work after all. Hanuman then prayed at the feet of Bharat and wished to submit to him him with hands folded (as he knew Bharat also was one with intentions just to do what Ram needed and wished hence failure was not to happen).

Hanuman said, “Keeping your glory in heart (knowing that there exists no difference in a true devotee and the Lord, and Bharat was such a one) O Master I will now want leave right away;” with these words Hanuman sought leave of Bharat, paid regards and left.

Pawansut Hanuman covered journey only repeatedly remembering and appreciating Bharat’s might, strength of his arms, his decent disposition and behavior, and other virtues but most of all his unparalleled and unlimited devotion and love for feet of the Lord (the true Bhaktas carry same effect as the Lord Himself when met with hence Hanuman had become oblivious of the difference between Bharat and Ram which has been the case with most who happened to meet and see Bharat).

We have now overed up to Doha 60 of Lanka Kand.
