Ocean who had assumed form of a Vipra, promptly addressed Shri Ram’s concern and said, “Lord, there are two, by names of Neel and Nal, in Your army of monkeys who on account of being blessed by a Rishi in their childhood have secured power by which even heavy stones touched by them will float in the sea water, in this also Your glory and influence only would be at work.
“As for me, I also, keeping abreast Your influence, glories and effect, will do every thing by way of help in accordance with my own prowess. O Master, in this manner You may exercise control over the ocean so that Your renown spreads over the three Lokas and people sing praises all over.
“The arrow that You have already placed in readiness over the bow can’t go waste as it never does, the same may be aimed at those vile persons who occupy my northern shore to annihilate them as they are only like piles of sins, O My Lord and Master.”
When the gracious Lord came to know of pain that pricked the heart of sea, He as Shri Ram, the one who never evades when it was time to act in the battlefield, acted with alacrity to remove the cause that troubled the sea.”
The sea observed the extent of strength and tenacity of Shri Ram and became happy and comfortable. Ocean then told all about the mischievous deeds of the villains who were now extinct; it later bowed down at feet of Lord and went back.
Raghupati Shri Ram appreciated the suggestion of ocean who had now gone back to his abode; Tulsidas says that he has related, as much as his capacity allowed, the stories of Shri Ram and has given the account of His approach and conduct, which have potential to destroy the ill effects of Kali’s age. “The virtues and glories of Raghunayak Shri Ram are like home of pleasure, eliminate doubts and subdue anxieties and worries of heart, hence”, Tulsi says,”O My Dumb Self, sing and listen to these continuously shedding all your reliance on other means and nursing false hope.”
The singing of virtues of Raghunayak Shri Ram itself is able to provide all kind of welfare and can ensure nicest of fortune; those who listen with attention do get across the ocean of being without even a ship.
We have now covered up to Doha 60 of Sundar Kand. This coincides with 24th rest for the month long recital.
This is ends of the fifth step into the Ramcharit Manas which destroys all the ill-effects of the Kaliyuga.
